At the moment, Points of Invincibility in Ukraine are a true lifeline for many people. Urban energy systems are under severe strain, and people are often forced to live without electricity for more than 10–20 hours a day. Electricity, however, is not the only problem. Water and heating are frequently unavailable as well, leaving people to endure the cold in their own homes. For this reason, I decided to visit several Points of Invincibility. I was genuinely surprised by the strong sense of togetherness among people. The first places I visited were a post office and a supermarket. Friends had told me that these locations are staffed by kind people who allow visitors to charge their phones, laptops, and power banks, and even to get some work done.Next, I visited a fully equipped Point of Invincibility. There, people can rest in warmth, receive free food, call their loved ones thanks to working connections, or simply sit and talk with others. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. A few elderly women were sitting at a table and kindly invited me to have tea with them. Someone was attending an online meeting, and in another corner children were playing together.By listening to people’s stories, it quickly becomes clear that these Points of Invincibility truly live up to their name. The atmosphere is filled with positivity and faith in a better future. These places offer not only warmth and electricity, but also the chance to connect with others and feel that you are not alone.I was particularly impressed by the volunteers and staff members who helped everyone with a smile, despite exhaustion and difficult conditions. Points of Invincibility serve as islands of stability amid uncertainty, and their importance is immense. They are open to everyone, without restrictions.
Points of Invincibility also create social connections.
